Romanian Foreign Minister Adrian Cioroianu has expressed his discontent that he had not been announced by Moldovan officials about the alleged violations of visa procedures committed by the representatives of the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau. <\/p>\n

In line with the Mediafax agency, the minister "regrets that he has got no official statement for the part of the Moldovan officials on the alleged violations of the regulations on visa issuing committed by the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau which were reported at a news conference on Friday. <\/p>\n

The Romanian Foreign Minister demanded the Moldovan party to provide details on the information reported at the news conference on August 17, 2007 through the Moldovan Embassy in Bucharest and the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau. Cioroianu requested, by a verbal note, explanations relating to the information in line with which a Romanian diplomat in Chisinau would be accused of bribery. <\/p>\n

Representatives of the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Friday at a news conference that a high-rank official within the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau was charged with facilitating Romanian visa granting to Moldovans. The representatives refused, however, to announce the name of the alleged offender for the sake of inquiry. <\/p>\n

According to the Interior Ministry, visa applications were handed to the official by Chief of management Service within the National Philharmonics Agnesa Rusu. The latter is suspected of forging documents for the visa applicants, in line with which they were either singers or dancers. <\/p>\n
