Republic of Moldova wasn’t invited to the World Santa Claus Congress, which started on Monday in Bakken, an entertainment park situated in the North of Copenhagen, DECA-press transmits. <\/p>\n

The employees of the Santa Claus Academy from Chisinau told us that Moldova didn’t receive an invitation to this event despite the fact it has a special Academy, a national Santa Claus and activities similar to the institutions of this kind from Europe. <\/p>\n

At the same time, nearly 160 Santa Claus form Europe, Australia and Japan have reunited at the 50th world congress from Bakken, where they will discuss the establishment of a unique date of celebrating Christmas. “This controversial problem continues creating discrepancies. Some of them want to celebrate Christmas on December 24th. Others want to celebrate it on December 25th or even on January 6th-7th, like Russians. That is why you should understand that this is not a simple matter”, Vibeke Larsen, the spokesman of Santa Claus congress. <\/p>\n

Fixing a date for celebrating Christmas caused a series of disputes in the Parliament from Chisinau as well. Before that, the leader of PSL, Oleg Serebrian proposed the Parliament to celebrate Christmas on December 25th in Republic of Moldova, mentioning that a great part of Moldovan population celebrates it on December 25th, but they do not have a day off in order to celebrate Christmas in the family.
