The Visa Application Center in the Hungarian Embassy in Chisinau began its work on Thursday in a test regime. The first application was accepted at 9.30 from a Moldovan citizen, who wishes to go to Austria. Several tens of people, wishing to get visas, gathered near the Embassy by the opening hour. <\/p>\n

As Infotag has already reported, the center accepts applications for short-term or transit visas to Hungary, Austria, Latvia and Slovenia from Moldovan citizens or foreigners, who live in our republic legally. The cost depends on the visa type and the destination country and constitutes \u0432‚¬35-50 on the average. <\/p>\n

The consul of the country, which applicant is going to visit, takes a decision on granting a visa. On the average this procedure lasts from one to four weeks. Any applicant can be invited for an interview with a consul. The consuls of Austria, Latvia and Slovenia are not staying permanently in Moldova, they come to Chisinau not less than once a month. <\/p>\n

\"\"It is possible to get a Schengen visa, if the visiting country is Austria. Such visa gives the right to visit other Schengen zone states, but it is necessary to pass the major time in Austria. <\/p>\n

In order to get a visa it is not compulsory to address to the center. It is also possible to submit an application directly to a consulate. The Austrian Embassy to Moldova is in Bucharest, the Embassies of Slovenia and Latvia – in Kiev. <\/p>\n

The visa is a preliminary permit to enter a country. It does not automatically guarantee the entrance. On the border travelers can be asked to produce other documents, confirming the entrance right, and if there are no such documents, travelers may not be allowed to enter a country. <\/p>\n

The official opening of the center is slated for April 25. It is expected that Vice-Chairman of the European Commission Franco Frattini, as well as foreign ministers of Hungary, Slovenia and Austria will come to Chisinau to participate in the opening ceremony. <\/p>\n

It is planned that in the future one can get visa for any EU Country in this center.
