State social pensions were indexed by 20.7% as of April 1. The Government approved such a decision on March 21. <\/p>\n

Asked by BASA, Laura Grecu, Head of the Social Insurance Department, Ministry of Social Protection, Family and Child, communicated that the indexation was calculated depending on the consumption goods price raise and average annual salary raise per country. "The size of the pension for age limit for farmers increased by 62 lei as of early April, while the other recipients of pensions for age limit will receive 70 lei more than before April 1. The size of the pension for first degree invalidity rose 49 lei, second degree invalidity by 47 lei, and third degree invalidity by 33 lei", the cited source also said. <\/p>\n

\"\"According to the decision of the Executive, the citizens who suffered from the Chernobyl catastrophe as well as the soldiers and persons from the Ministry of the Interior shall also receive adjusted pensions. <\/p>\n

To implement this decision, the Executive will allot monthly 58 million lei from the budget. <\/p>\n

Before March 31, the smallest pension amounted to 299.5 lei and was paid for age limit to farmers. As of April 1 they will receive pensions in the amount of 361 lei.
