Young people aged between 18 and 28 may participate in the "Young European of the Year" award worth 5 thousand euros organized by the Heinz Schwarzkopf Foundation, Berlin, Germany, in cooperation with the Youth European Parliament. <\/p>\n

The prize is awarded starting in 1997 to young people whose efforts are dedicated in particular to communication and European integration. Projects concerning public opinion information on the EU, opportunities and disadvantages of the European community for its member states and its neighbors are particularly welcomed. <\/p>\n

The amount of 5,000 euros will be granted for funding a six months internship in the office of a MEP or in another European institution. The prize can be used also to fund another project related to European integration. <\/p>\n

Interested persons can download the applications on the web page www.heinz-schwarzkopf- stiftung.de and submit them by e-mail: info@heinz-schwarzkopf-stiftung.de. The deadline for entries is 30 June 2007. <\/p>\n

The foundation will also award 550 euros for a trip in a European country with a further presentation of a report on what the person saw and studied in the destination country. Heinz- Schwarzkopf was founded in 1971.
