Moldovan collective tourism accommodation structures have been visited by 312,000 tourists last year, by 3.4% more against 2005, according to the National Statistics Bureau (BNS). <\/p>\n

In 2006, the most of the accommodated foreign tourists (80%) came from European countries. Significant shares were registered by the tourists arrived from Romania (21%), followed by Ukraine (11.3%), Russia (9.4%), Italy (6.0%), Germany (4.6%) and Great Britain (2.7%). <\/p>\n

The index of net use of tourism accommodation capacity was of 44.5%, and the highest utilization index (77%) was registered by the balneal structures. <\/p>\n

The average period of stay in accommodation structures was of 6.6 days, including at hotels and similar structures – 3.9 days, balneal structures – 17.2 days, resort structures – 7.7 days. <\/p>\n

Data put out by the BNS show that in end-2006 Moldova had registered 211structures of tourism accommodation, of which 76 hotels and similar structures, 6 balneal structures and 129 resort structures. Ten out of the total number of hotels and similar structures had the classification category of four stars, 11 – three stars, 7 – two stars, 3 – one star, and the rest were not classified on stars. <\/p>\n

After the functioning way, 43.3% of the total of rooms are in structures of permanent collective tourism accommodation, and 56.7% – in seasonal structures. <\/p>\n

The accommodation structures had the possibility to render their services in 29 restaurants, 40 bars and cafeterias, 2 casinos, 56 swimming pools and saunas, 84 jims and sports grounds, 53 conference rooms, 53 parkings, 52 laundries and 17 hairdressing saloons.
