“Moldelectrica” State Enterprise has the necessary personnel, pillars, wires, and diesel oil in order to solve the problem of power disruption, caused by the windy weather and sleet in the last few days, stated the head of the enterprise, Marc Remes during an extraordinary meeting summoned by the Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev on Thursday, December 4. <\/p>\n

According to him, natural calamities affected especially the southern and the central zones of Moldova. 21 high tension lines of 110 KW and two of 330 KW have been damaged. About 380 towns and villages have been left without power. <\/p>\n

According to the deputy minister of Transport and Road Management, Pavel Untura, although several difficult situations have been registered on several road sectors, at the moment all the national highways are functioning properly. Efforts are focused now on ensuring the access to local roads. <\/p>\n

The director of “Moldtelecom” JSC, Gheorghe Ursachi mentioned that about 50,000 customers don’t have access to telephone, especially in the raions of Cahul, Cantemir, and Hanceşti. Ursachi promised that in maximum 2 days, all the deficiencies will be removed. <\/p>\n

Vasile Tarlev ordered to create a work group under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure, which would travel to the most affected zones in order to mobilise all forces for the reestablishment of the energy system. He requested to work out within an hour an action plan on re-establishing electric networks – first of all of the high tension ones and than the medium and low tension networks, so that, in short time, the normal supply of electric power for all consumers is resumed. <\/p>\n
