The Government will allocate from the reserve Fund 50,000 lei to the families of the five-member crew, who lost their lives in the crash of AN-26 aircraft, in Balad city (Iraq). <\/p>\n

Premier Vasile Tarlev requested during the Wednesday’s sitting (January 17) the Cabinet, Government apparatus and Anticorruption Centre to inventory all the companies registered in Moldova that hold flight authorisation, number of aircrafts and authorities that issued them licenses and flight authorisations, their owners and type of business of these companies. The informative note will be presented to the Government that promises “to bring this field in order”, Prime minister said. <\/p>\n

Five citizens of Moldova, the crew members of the AN-26 aircraft, lost their lives in the plane crash, with other 29 passengers on board. Only one Turkish citizen has survived the crash. <\/p>\n

The bodies of the 33 Turkish citizens and of the crew members have been transported on January 10 by a special airline to Adana, from where the crashed plane had taken off to Iraq. DNA expertise is carried out at present to identify the victims, and afterwards the bodies of the crew members will be transported to Moldova. <\/p>\n

Director of "Aerian-Tur M" Company Sergiu Caraus previously told Info-Prim Neo that the Moldovan pilots have been already identified, but Turkish authorities did not give permission to transport the bodies to Moldova. The reason cited by the Turkish is the fact that not all the crash victims, citizens of Turkey, have been identified. The Company will cover the costs related to the transportation, funerals, places at the cemetery, and headstones. <\/p>\n

National Aeronautic Association of Moldova has recently opened a special account for raising money for the families of the dead pilots.
