According to BBC, cited by Info-Prim Neo, several Britannic editorials have written at the end of this week about a phenomenon they called “Moldovan invasion”. <\/p>\n

"Hundreds of thousand Moldavians could come to Great Britain starting next year ", wrote the Daily Telegraph, the newspaper with the biggest edition from Great Britain. <\/p>\n

Daily Mail wrote: "A third of a million of immigrants from Moldova, the poorest country of Europe, assured a back door entrance to Great Britain ". <\/p>\n

"Without money and perspectives, 300 thousand Moldavians are headed to us ", writes the Daily Star at the beginning of its article. <\/p>\n

"Hundreds of thousand persons from one of the poorest countries of Europe have requested Romanian citizenship that sill give them free access to the European Union labor markets starting from next year", Daily Express writes. <\/p>\n

The information source is the vice-consul of Romania in Chisinau, Lucian Stanica, who declared on BBC on Tuesday, October 3, that during August and September the Romanian consulate received 300 thousand citizenship requests. As a single letter sometimes has the citizenship request for several persons, the number of request can be much bigger. <\/p>\n

After the Law of citizenship has been modified in 2003, 30 thousand files were received – the second stage after the written request, and in these time span only 3000 citizenships were granted, meaning an average 1000 per year. <\/p>\n

According to the Romanian ministry of Justice, Monica Macovei, interviewed by BBC in London on October 3, as the citizenship law hasn’t changed, it is highly unlikely that this number increases considerably.
