Nationals of sixteen new countries, including Moldova, will need visas in order to travel through the United Kingdom, starting June 23, the Home Office announced in London. <\/p>\n

According to a communique issued by the British Embassy to Moldova, the countries affected by this change are: Moldova, Albania, Belarus, Myanmar, Burundi, Gambia, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Nepal, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Vietnam and Palestinian Territories. <\/p>\n

The change announced means they will also need a visa in order to pass through the U.K. on their way to a third country. <\/p>\n

Until 23.59 hours on 28 June, any transit passenger who bought their ticket on or before 23 June will not be refused entry solely on the basis of not holding a valid transit visa. In addition, any person on the return leg of a journey they commenced before 23 June and who passed through the U.K. on the outward leg of their journey will be allowed to transit the U.K. <\/p>\n

A grace period for those who have already made their travel plans will be put in place, the source said. <\/p>\n
