The sanitary authorities of Belarus have amply investigated the quality of wines imported from Moldova and Georgia and found out that the wines made in the two countries are inoffensive, according to the news agency Interfax. <\/p>\n

"The findings of expertises made in all regions of Belarus show that the Moldovan and Georgian wines do not contain toxic substances or pesticides," an unnamed official of the Belarusian centre of hygiene, has said. Belarus tested about 500 samples of wines imported from Moldova and Georgia this year. "The expertises have been long and thorough, but they did not identify any harmful substances," the official added. <\/p>\n

According to data of the Agri-Industrial Agency MoldovaVin, wine exports to Belarus turned over 16 million dollars in the first half of this year and they rose by 28 percent, compared with the similar period of 2005. "Deliveries to this market are expected to grow, while the findings of the investigations conducted in Belarus is a premise in this regard," MoldovaVin spokesman Iurie Mudrea stated to BASA. <\/p>\n
