Moldova will pay over 30,000 euros damages to a citizen who said a national court violated his right to a fair trial. The European Court of Human Rights Tuesday made public its ruling saying the Moldovan authorities violated stipulations of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in the case of Ermicev versus Moldova. <\/p>\n

Lawyer Vlad Gribincea told REPORTER.MD that the European Court ruled that Moldova should pay 31 465 euros material damages, 2 000 euros moral damages and 300 euros court costs to the plaintiff.

\nIn the petition to the ECHR, the plaintiff said that he was to receive an apartment in ownership instead of a sum of money he had earlier lent to a person. The owner of the apartment refused yet to transfer the right to ownership to the plaintiff in accordance with the contract signed by the two persons. Ermicev appealed to the national court and lost the case.
\nMoldova lost 35 cases in the ECHR until present.
