The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) will offer assistance to Moldova in the process of adjusting the national energy regulation framework to the European standards. <\/p>\n

A representative of the SIDA department for infrastructure and finances, Annelie Gabrielson, has made statements to this effect within a meeting with the leadership of the National Agency for Regulation of Energy (ANRE), according to ANRE’s press service. <\/p>\n

Gabrielson said the technical assistance project provides for selecting a consulting company dealing with the European legislation on energy matters, which is to analyse the national legislation in the field, and to submit proposals regarding its adjustment to the European norms. <\/p>\n

The participants in the meeting agreed that the consulting company will be selected within an international tender. SIDA committed to send an expert to Chisinau in the near future to help organise the tender. <\/p>\n

The ANRE leadership said that Sweden’s assistance will contribute to the adjustment of the national energy regulation framework to the international standards, as well as to the implementation of the European Union Action Plan for Moldova. <\/p>\n
