The first stage of technical revision of minibuses and taxis authorised to carry passengers in Chisinau will be held on April 10-20. The municipal directorate for public transportation and communication will coordinate and monitor the revision process. <\/p>\n

Statistics show that about 80 out of 1,800 minibuses that carry passengers in Chisinau are older than 15 years. <\/p>\n

Ion Mamaliga, chairman of the Association of Private Transporters, said that "there is no legal ground to stipulate the withdrawal of these minibuses from routes." "The order was already contested in the Court of Appeal because more than 80 families are deprived of sources for living. WE will demand the postponement of this decision at least until autumn," Mamaliga stated to BASA. <\/p>\n

Under the order signed by ad-interim Mayor of Chisinau Vasile Ursu, the technical conditions, outside and endowment of vehicles will be checked.
