In the period between June 17 and 18, in Chisinau will take placethe 22nd Conference of the CE Ministers’ Committee regarding the issue"The Independence of Judges".<\/p>\n

The organizational aspects linked to this event have been discussed onWednesday, during the first session of the Governmental committee for theorganization of the 22nd conference of Ministers of Justice from Europe, ledby Moldovan Vice-Prime-Minister Nicolae Andronic.<\/p>\n

Assistant External Minister Iurie Leanca declared that "the fact that thismeeting is taking place in the capital of Moldova has a large politicalsignificance". He mentioned that "it will be for the first time when Chisinauhosts a meeting at such a representative level".<\/p>\n

President of the committee Nicolae Andronic said that the greatest part of theexpenditures for organizing the meeting will be supported by the Council ofEurope. According to the preliminary estimations, Moldova will contribute300,000 lei. 125,000 lei will be spent for renting the halls in the RepublicPalace, 15,000 lei for renting the transport, 6,000 lei for requisites, 1,500lei is the price of the stands for the Republic Palace, 28,000 lei will bespent for two dinners, 28,000 lei will be the price of the reception offeredby the Moldovan President, 28,000 lei – the price of the reception offered bythe Prime-Minister, 18,000 lei – the reception offered by the Vice-Prime-Minister,9,100 lei – the breakfast offered by the Ministry of Justice and 14,000 leiwill be spent for serving the participants to the meeting with mineral water,tea and coffee.<\/p>\n

The main report of the conference will be presented by Minister of Justice ofGreat Britain, while the co-reports will be presented by the Moldovan andGerman Ministers of Justice.<\/p>\n

Mr. Andronic insisted on the quality of the report that will be presented by theMoldovan Minister of Justice and on his elaboration by June 10.<\/p>\n

All the expenditures linked to the trip and housing will be supported by themembers of the delegations that will participate in the meeting.<\/p>\n

Beside the Ministers of Justice from the 40 member states of the CE, in themeeting will also participate the Ministers of Justice of the observing states -USA, Japan, Canada, Armenia, Azerbaidjan, Georgia and Vatican.<\/p>\n
