The Moldovan Academy of Sciences’ budget will be 153 million lei this year – against 139 million in 2005, and 80% of the funding will be for researches and labor remuneration. The rest 20% will be invested in purchase of scientific equipment, repair of research institute premises, etc., it was said at the Academy Assembly’s session on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

Last year, various scientific programs consumed 96.8 million lei. Moldovan researchers carried out essential works in archaeology, history, geography, biology, medicine, education, and other. The Academy provided backing to over 800 scientific projects, including in the framework of the Satul Moldovenesc [Moldovan Village] National Program and the EU-Moldova Action Plan. <\/p>\n
