A novel complex monograph about nature of the Plaiul Fagului reservation in the Ungheni district, whose authors are known in the world, was released in Chisinau on December 27. <\/p>\n

Gheorghe Postolache, chief of the laboratory for forestry and geo-botanic of the Botanical Garden of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences and an author of this work, said that the monograph contains the results of complex researches about flora, vegetation and fauna of reservation carried out within 10 years. <\/p>\n

"The reservation Plaiul Fagului presents a great interest at national and European levels because there are about 25 species of rare plants included in the Red Book in its territory, of which some ten species of plants are registered in this reservation alone," Postolache noted. <\/p>\n

According to authors, the work will serve as reference point to work out recommendations on conservation of biodiversity in this protected area and will be a guide for scientific researchers, specialists in botanic field, as well as for all those who handle environment problems. <\/p>\n
