The Interior Bodies’ (MAI) History Museum was re-opened in Chisinau on 17 December on the occasion of the National Police Day. The museum presents the history of this sector since the foundation of the Moldovan state until nowadays. <\/p>\n

Museum’s director Stefan Culea has told the first visitors that the exhibits have been structured on four galleries. "The first of them present the medieval Moldova, the Tsarist police in Bessarabia, Bessarabian police within the Soviet Socialist Republic of Moldova and the public order guard bodies," Culea said. <\/p>\n

The other three rooms are dedicated to the police’s activity in the Soviet period, the creation of the Republic of Moldova and National Police and Interior Bodies’ current activity. Among the museum’s exhibits, alongside objects of famous personalities from the law bodies’ history, there can be seen Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin’s general-mayor uniform. <\/p>\n

Culea said the museum has a very rare monograph about Bessarabia’s history since 1242 to 1812. "The publication is a copy of an exceptional quality, issued at the MAI’s demand, which besides discovering the monograph, has also given it a new life," the museum’s director said. <\/p>\n
