\"\"Former defense minister Valeriu Pasat last weekend announced hunger strike as protest against deferment of examining the two cases initiated on his name. <\/p>\n

His lawyer Gheorghe Amihalachioae told REPORTER.MD that his client resorted to such a form of protest because the court requested the presentation of the internal regulations of the Defense Ministry from 1997, which stipulate that other persons have the right to sign, except the minister. <\/p>\n

The requested regulations were not presented at the hearing for the reason they could not be found. But there were presented similar regulations dated 1999. They were rejected by the court until a witness confirmed the two documents are identical. <\/p>\n

Amihalachioae specified that Valeriu Pasat intends to go on strike until the end of the trial. At the same time, the hearing set for today, December 12, was adjourned because the lawyer Lilia Vasilevici is on sick leave. The next two hearings were arranged for December 21 and 22. <\/p>\n
