\"\"The Moldovan President’s initiative is nothing than an impediment to keeping, development and expression of national and cultural identity of the majority Romanian population in Moldova, says a statement of the Liberal Party with reference to the initiative on introducing the Integrated History course in the education system. <\/p>\n

In the Liberal Party’s opinion, this initiative is a continuation of the soviet policy on denationalization and destruction of the national constitution of the Romanians from the Republic of Moldova. It runs counter to article 10 of the Constitution, according to which the state recognizes and guarantees the right of all the citizens to develop and express their ethnic, cultural, linguistic and religious identity. <\/p>\n

“The Liberal Party is against indoctrinating children with a false history, as well as against exploiting the science of history for political reason, reason for which we are for keeping the History of Romanians and the Universal History courses as essential scientific backgrounds for training new generations,” the statement reads. <\/p>\n

The same source specifies that the launch of this initiative on the eve of the National Day of Romania can be seen as an insult to the Romanian state and as an attempt to worsen the bilateral relations between Moldova and Romania, fact that could hinder both states on their way to European integration. <\/p>\n

It should be mentioned that the Historians’ Association of Moldova expressed its disagreement with this attempt and asked the central authorities to discontinue the integrated History course. <\/p>\n
