The state policy on pharmaceutical activity will be carried out by the national drug regulator Medicines Agency that was instituted by the Government. At the Wednesday’s meeting, the Council of Ministers approved the regulations, structure and number of employees of the agency. <\/p>\n

The new structure will have 150 employees and will be subordinated to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. <\/p>\n

Under the regulations, the Medicines Agency will monitor the process of providing drugs and pharmaceutical assistance, especially for the public medico-sanitary institutions dealing with the obligatory health insurance. <\/p>\n

The agency will be empowered to authorize the medications on Moldova’s territory, assess and control their quality, supervise the pharmaceutical activity. <\/p>\n

The drug regulatory agency will have a department of evaluation-authorization, a department of pharmaceutical activity, a department of pharmaceutical inspection and a quality department.
