Twenty representatives of the Party of Moldovan Communists (PCRM) laid down flowers at the monument of Lenin in Chisinau on Monday morning, marking the 88th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution in Russia. Moldovan President and PCRM leader Vladimir Voronin did not attend the ceremony, but the presidential press service said that the chief of state will attend a meeting on Monday afternoon. <\/p>\n

The manifestation near the monument of Bolshevik leader Lenin was more modest than the precedent years, when dozens of PCRM representatives gathered and organised meetings and received youths among pioneers. <\/p>\n

A group of persons, members of the Leninist-style Communist Party laid down a wreath at the monument of Lenin before Communists laid down flowers there. <\/p>\n

Communist Deputy Victor Stepaniuc told journalists after laying down flowers at the monument of Lenin that "the October Revolution remains a reference point in Moldova’s history." He noted that the socialist regime is better than the capitalist regime, b ut generations of communists after Lenin had failed to use it. <\/p>\n
