The minister of agriculture and food industry has ordered the investigation of every hen perishing case in order to prevent the spreading of bird flu. Veterinary doctors must transmit all the dead fowls identi fied at households to the republican diagnosis centre. <\/p>\n

"Although the pasterellosis has killed only dozens of fowls in the village of Orac, the Leova district, until now, this is an important measure aimed to prevent to bird flu," Anatol Gorodenco, minister of agriculture and food industry, estimated at a meeting with representatives of veterinary inspectorates from districts on Tuesday, October 18. <\/p>\n

The minister suggested experts to inform farmers about bird flu prevention measures. He noted that the contact of fowls with water basins and nourishment of fowls in open rooms must be avoided, since this is an active period for migration of wild ducks. <\/p>\n

Experts of the Moldovan Agrarian University told the meeting that the bird flu virus H5N1 identified in the Romanian county of Tulcea is the most dangerous pathogen of disease. “It has killed more than 100 persons and hundreds of millions of birds until now," they warned. <\/p>\n

The agriculture ministers of Romania, Ukraine and Moldova agreed in Suceava on Monday evening to create a trilateral force on bird flu, and to cooperate together in order to establish an action plan against this disease in the region. <\/p>\n
