Yesterday Romanian minister of foreign affairs Mihai-Razvan Ungureanu opened the new General Consulate of Romania in Rostov. The Romanian official took this opportunity to express trust in the European destiny of the Russian Federation. <\/p>\n

Minister Ungureanu described the new consulate as "a new way, maybe a shorter one, to Europe". Ungureanu opined that the opening of this new institution was a first step taken to restore significant economic relations with Russia. The Romanian official mentioned they intended to open three more Romanian consulates in the Russian Federation, in Siberia and in the Ural region, in two years’ time. <\/p>\n

Yesterday the Romanian minister attended the session of a Romanian-Russian business forum. 12 businessmen from Romania were present. Ungureanu described the event as a sign of change in Romania’s foreign affairs, economy and strategy policy on the Russian Federation. The Romanian official outlined his visit there had both political and economic significance.
