About 20 employees of the special police unit Fulger forced Monday more than 500 street vendors in the Chisinau municipality to relieve the key avenue of the Moldovan capital, as the traders were illegally pick eting the presidency and parliament headquarters. <\/p>\n

The vendors began the protests on Monday morning in front of the Chisinau City Hall, being unsatisfied with a decision of the municipality to prohibit them to sell their goods in the street starting October 3. As the municipal authorities refused to show up in front of protestors, they decided to picket the parliament and presidency headquarters, blocking up the traffic in the Stefan cel Mare avenue. <\/p>\n

To relieve the traffic in the avenue, the police called on special forces. Fulger unit employees spoke harshly and hit protestors since they refused to relieve the traffic, while certain protestors got injured.
