The new petition submitted by the political detainees Andrei Ivantoc and Tudor Popa to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) will be examined out of turn. <\/p>\n

President of public organization “Jurists for Human Rights”, Vitalie Nagacevschi, representative of those two political detainees at the European court of law, stated for REPORTER.MD that this decision was taken by the president of the Fourth Chamber of ECHR that decided to examine out of turn the petition submitted by those two against the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation. <\/p>\n

At the same time, Nagacevschi mentioned that the representatives of the petitioners at ECHR refused the candidacy of Stanislav Pavlovschi, judge of the European Court of Human Rights on behalf of Moldova, who is to take part in petition’s examination. The reason for repudiation is the fact that in the 90’s Pavlovschi was deputy head of the Exceptional Cases Investigation Division of the General Prosecutor’s Office and deputy head of the Penal Investigation Division of the mentioned institution, these being structures that dealt with the investigation of a number of legal cases related to the events from Transdniestria, circumstances that can be interpreted as influence on judge’s impartiality. <\/p>\n

Andrei Ivantoc and Tudor Popa that are imprisoned in the Transdniestrian region of the Republic of Moldova, as well as their relatives Eudochia Ivantoc and Victor Petrov, submitted on June 10, 2005 a new petition to ECHR, where they stated that their rights to freedom and security, respect for private life and family are violated, and the provisions concerning the prohibition of torture, inhuman and degrading treatment and punishment are also violated. \/\/REPORTER.MD<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
