Directors of secondary vocational education institutions request that the students of these schools to be guaranteed a workplace after graduation, as well as the possibility to continue their studies in higher education institutions. On Thursday, during a meeting at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS), heads of the respective institutions proposed to reform the system of financing vocational schools, speaking out that the method of administering the financial sources accumulated in the extra-budgetary accounts is incorrect, as they are not managed by the institutions’ administrations. <\/p>\n

The vocational school directors have also requested from MEYS to solve the problems related to the gratis feeding of the students, as well as to their employment during studies, endowment of vocational institutions with modern technology, insufficiency of staff in these institutions, etc. <\/p>\n

Sources from vocational school nr.6 from Chisinau assert that at present the teachers with a work experience of 10-20 years that work here have a salary of 400-500 lei, and only 30-40% of the total number of skilled masters remained to work in this institution. <\/p>\n

According to Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Victor Tvircun, “for financial reasons, the Government is not able to immediately modernize the technologies in all the institutions of secondary vocational education.” The enterprises employing young specialists could also bring their contribution to settle this problem. Tvircun specified that the draft Law on education that is to be presented for public debates includes the problems tackled by representatives of secondary vocational institutions of education. <\/p>\n
