The two political detainees, Andrei Ivantoc and Tudor Petrov-Popa, incarcerated in Tiraspol prisons, have submitted a compensatory request to the European Court for Human Rights (ECHR). <\/p>\n

The detainees� representative Vlad Gribincea told REPORTER.MD that besides the two authors, the request was also signed by Eudochia Ivantoc and Victor Petrov-Popa, Tudor�s son. <\/p>\n

The political detainees assert that from 8 July 2004, when the sentence of the Strasbourg Court in case of "Ilascu against Moldova and Russian Federation" was passed, the Tiraspol authorities have repeatedly violated the provisions of art.3 of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (interdiction of torture), those two being subjected to an inhuman treatment. <\/p>\n

Their relatives, signatories of the request, warn the High Court that by non-observing ECHR decision their rights to private life are violated. <\/p>\n

Gribincea specified that he sought from the Strasbourg Court to examine first of all the submitted request and immediate communication of the decision of the Moldovan and Russian Governments. At the same time, in the request there was claimed the Romanian Government�s presence at trial, so as to back the members of Ivantoc family, for the reason that they are also Romanian citizens. <\/p>\n
