The VI edition of the European Women�s Chess Championship is continuing in Chisinau. After three rounds, Svetlana Petrenco, multiple national champion and winner of the last championship, is presenting as best sportswoman among chess players of the Republic of Moldova. She accumulated 2.5 points and takes the fourth position. <\/p>\n

Katerina Lahno (Ukraine), Lilit Mkrtcian (Armenia) and Viktoria Cimilite (Lithuania), who accumulated by three points each, share the first three positions. <\/p>\n

163 chess players from 29 countries, among who 18 represent Moldova, participate in the current edition of the European Championship. Awarding Fund of the European Championship is of 45 Th. USD. The champion will receive 7 Th. USD, winner of silver � 4.5 Th. USD, and bronze � 3.5 Th. USD. The first 25 sportswomen will be awarded. Special prizes are to be awarded for the best game (500 USD), for the best participator with the coefficient of up to 2300 (800 USD), of 2200 (700 USD) and of 2100 (600 USD).
