The Russian Federation must pull out its arsenal and military forces from the territory of Moldova by the end of 2005, according to the Moldovan Parliament’s Appeal regarding the principles and conditions of Transdniestrian region’s demilitarization that was adopted Friday by the Parliament. <\/p>\n

According to vice speaker of the Parliament Iurie Rosca, through this appeal Moldova requests assistance from the EU, OSCE, CE, US, Russia, Ukraine and Romania for removing the threats posed by the military factor of the Transdniestrian conflict by democratizing the region through international community’s concerted efforts. <\/p>\n

The ParliAment Established certain conditions through which the Russian Federation and Moldova will recognize the fact that the military units deployed in Moldova’s Security Zone on the basis of the Moldo-Russian Agreement from 21 July 1992 have achieved the set goal and are to be reduced and withdrawn fully from Moldova by 31 December 2006. <\/p>\n

At the same time, as a result of an approach made by Moldova to OSCE, the transformation of the peacemaking operation into an international mechanism of military and civil observers that will act under OSCE’s mandate will be performed gradually and fully in the mentioned period. <\/p>\n

After Russia fulfils the commitments assumed at the Istanbul Summit regarding the complete, urgent and transparent withdrawal of its army and armament from the territory of Moldova, the Moldovan Parliament will ratify the adapted Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) that represents a fundamental element of the European security. \/\/ REPORTER.MD<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
