The reason of the May 27 tragedy at the Marculesti air base field could be a technical failure of the Vilga-35 aircraft’s engine. Such is the preliminary conclusion made by a governmental commission investigating into the tragedy that took away the lives of 2 pilots and 2 technicians. <\/p>\n

Commission chairman Deputy Minister of Defense Ion Coropcean has reported to Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev that, presumably, the engine slowed down or even stopped when the airplane was making a maneuver, and that could lead to its falling down. <\/p>\n

Experts’ final conclusion will be made public upon completion of all routine examination of air vessel fragments. The Premier demanded to speed up the investigation. <\/p>\n
