Torrential rains accompanies by hail and strong wind, on May 31, caused material damages and destruction and one young woman died.<\/p>\n

Spokeswoman of the Emergency Situation Department, Rubina Bubuioc stated for REPORTER.MD that torrential rains were registered in more than one locality in Briceni, Cimislia, Cahul, Leova, Ialoveni districts, in Gagauzia and Chisinau municipality. The storms have deteriorated and flooded many houses and agricultural lands, torn trees and caused power cuts. <\/p>\n

The cited source also asserts that in Ialoveni, during the water evacuation from a flooded house, the firemen have found the body of a young woman of 19. It is presupposed that she was electrocuted at the moment when she was trying to liquidate the consequences of calamities. <\/p>\n

In Corjeuti village, Briceni district, the water reached the height of one meter, and in Cimislia, Cahul, Comrat and Chisinau municipality many houses and public institutions remained without roofs. In Leova district, six localities were disconnected from the electricity and in other seven ones the telephone connection was interrupted. <\/p>\n

At the same time, large sown lands in the majority of localities affected by the natural calamities were flooded. <\/p>\n
