"Zdob si Zdub" that represented Moldova at the international song contest "Eurovision 2005" and that took the sixth place with 148 points, spent 50 000 Euros on promotion. <\/p>\n

Person responsible for relations with the public of the group, Corina Cairean told Wednesday the press that President of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin assured the group that all the money spent for the contest will be given back, the Ministry of Finance following to settle this problem.<\/p>\n

Bur until then, President Vladimir Voronin conferred the title of "Master of Arts" on the singer of the group, Roman Iagupov, "boonika" (grandma) Lidia Bejenaru was awarded the order "Civic Merit". The rest of group’s members were awarded the order "Civic Merit" and granted the title "Honored Person.<\/p>\n

At the press conFerence, "Zdob si Zdub" reiterated their indignation at the results of the Moldovan vote at "Eurovision 2005" that awarded only 7 points to Luminita Anghel and "System" group from Romania and 12 points to Latvia, which in semifinal did not get any point from Moldova. Iagupov stated that on May 30, "Zdob si Zdub" will have a concert in the center of Bucharest, during which they will apologize for the televoting from Moldova.<\/p>\n

Vasile Duca, member of the organizational committee of the Eurovision edition, has also referred to this "hot" issue and said that the televoting was organized by a German company, European Broadcasting Union (EBU), and Teleradio-Moldova formed just a stand-by jury.<\/p>\n

�There cannot be made speculations on the televoting results, because these were sent by EBU Company by fax, according to the pre-established procedures. The majority that voted can not be controlled, that�s why the accusations brought against the stand-by jury are groundless,� replied Duca to the accusations launched by the journalists that invoked that the voting was rigged<\/p>\n
