The saint pontifical mass and funeral service for the eternal rest of Saint Pope John Paul II which took place at the Romano-Catholic Bishopric on Friday brought together hundreds of Catholics and representatives of other religions in Moldova who wanted to pay the last homage to His Sanctity. <\/p>\n

The bishop of Romano-Catholic Church, Anton Cosa, said that "the world lost the most important spiritual reference point through Pontiff John Paul II. A reference which will be hardly recovered and probably hardly to save regarding the meaning of spirituality at global level." <\/p>\n

Taking part in the church service were President Vladimir Voronin and members of the diplomatic staff accredited in Chisinau. <\/p>\n

The chief of state wrote the following message in the book of condolences in the Providenta Divina Cathedral: "Moldova’s citizens are deeply grieved over death of His Sanctity Pope John Paul II, who is an irretrievable loss for the Catholic Church and entire humanity." <\/p>\n

According to Italian press reports, Pope John Paul II was buried in the vaults of the Saint Peter Basilica in the Vatican besides other more than 140 predecessors. His body was laid down in a cypress coffin, which was introduced in a zinc coffin and an oak coffin. <\/p>\n

A parchment comprising a Latin-language text which features the life and masterpiece of the Rome Pope, and edited as a notary document was introduced in the coffin of John Paul II. According to the document, John Paul II was the 264th Pope and his memory remains in the heart of the Church and entire humanity. <\/p>\n

Christians of different religions asked officials of the Catholic Church to canonize Pope John Paul II immediately after burial. <\/p>\n
