\"\"The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) has refused to transmit the Emergency Hospital to management of the Health Ministry, in spite of a cabinet decision which the councillors had contested and a ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice that had obliged the local authorities to comply. <\/p>\n

Twenty-eight out of 49 councillors passed this decision. The Communist councillors voted against. <\/p>\n

The CMC members urge the Supreme Court of Justice to review its ruling and threaten to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. <\/p>\n

They fear that the transmission of the Emergency Hospital to the Health Ministry will affect the quality of medical services provided to residents of Chisinau because it will have to serve the population from other settlements as well. <\/p>\n

Earlier, Ghenadie Turcanu, chairman of the primary and emergency medical assistance directorate in the Health Ministry, said that the patrimony of Chisinau will serve the settlements in municipality in continuation, as emergency facilities in territory are equipped with ambulances and they will be completed. According to Turcanu, only the structure of the Emergency Hospital will be reorganised, so that to regulate the activity of emergency facilities in districts, while the activity area of ambulances in Chisinau will not be extended. <\/p>\n
