Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Carl Bildt and Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski are expected to visit Moldova on October 21.<\/p>\n

The European officials are going on a three-day tour to Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia.<\/p>\n

“These countries are part of the EU’s Eastern Partnership, and the aim of the trip is to communicate the EU’s commitment to bringing these countries closer to the European Union,” the Swedish press secretary announced in a press release.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sikorski and Mr. Bildt will meet with the Moldovan prime minister on Monday. Their trip will continue to Kiev, Ukraine where the officials are expected to meet with the president and representatives of the opposition.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday evening the European officials will travel to Tbilisi to meet with the Georgian president and prime minister.<\/p>\n

“This trip is taking place during a critical phase ahead of the summit between the EU and the Eastern Partnership in Vilnius at the end of November. There it is hoped it will be possible to conclude or make progress on a number of agreements between the EU and some of the partnership countries,” the press release reads.<\/p>\n
