{"id":186943,"date":"2013-10-03T21:51:26","date_gmt":"2013-10-03T21:51:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.moldova.org\/2013\/10\/03\/transnistrian-conflict-talks-end-with-agreements-on-freedom-of-movement-239305-eng\/"},"modified":"2013-10-03T21:51:26","modified_gmt":"2013-10-03T21:51:26","slug":"transnistrian-conflict-talks-end-with-agreements-on-freedom-of-movement-239305-eng","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/transnistrian-conflict-talks-end-with-agreements-on-freedom-of-movement-239305-eng\/","title":{"rendered":"Transnistrian conflict talks end with agreements on freedom of movement"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><p style=\"text-align: justify\">Freedom of movement across both banks of the Nistru River was the main topic of discussion at the latest round of &ldquo;5+2&rdquo; negotiations over the Transnistrian conflict resolution process.<\/p>\n<p>The negotiations, which concluded on Thursday, took place in Brussels and were hosted by the European External Action Service (EEAS).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;We have very good prospects with regard to reaching some achievements in the area of freedom of movement,&rdquo; said the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for conflicts Ambassador Andrii Deshchytsia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Two main decisions have been made at these negotiations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Transnistrian Chief Negotiator, Nina Shtanski announced that the sides agreed to dismantle an industrial cable car in Ribnita and Rezina.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;Russia is going to assume all responsibility of the dismantling work,&rdquo; Nina Shtanski said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Moldovan Chief Negotiator, Eugen Carpov said that the introduction in the near future of migration checks with respect to people arriving from abroad with foreign passports has been discussed with Transnistrian partners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to him, all the sides have agreed that &ldquo;the existing restrictions are not going to apply to Transnistrian residents.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;Transnistrian nationals, even when they all have foreign passports, are not going to be subject of the same procedure as the one which will apply to foreigners arriving in Moldova,&rdquo; Eugen Carpov added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Several mobile border police groups have been established in September 2013. They are designed to control the flow of international citizens entering Moldova through the unrecognized frontier of Transnistria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;The mobile groups will not be in violation of the regime which exists in the Security Zone which was of concern for our colleagues in Tiraspol,&rdquo; Mr. Carpov pointed out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Moldova is trying to better secure its Eastern border in attempts to get visa liberalization program from the European Union.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The next round of negotiations will take place in Kiev on November 25-26.
