The Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, Dirk Schuebel was awarded the Order of Honor by the Moldovan President, Nicolae Timofti for his activity as EU ambassador to Moldova whose term ends this month.<\/p>\n

Mr. Timofti, who welcomed Dirk Schuebel at the State Residency, said that the relations between Moldova and the European Union were enhanced in the recent years, the country receiving full support from the European institutions and EU member states.<\/p>\n

The President pointed out that the evolution of the relations between sides is closely linked to the pace the reforms are implemented in Moldova, especially the fight against corruption.<\/p>\n

“The respect of commitments taken in respect of the Eastern Partnership will help us advance in our European integration,” Nicolae Timofti said.<\/p>\n

Dirk Schuebel said it has been a privilege to work in the Republic of Moldova. He emphasized that during his term, he could see changes emerging in the country.<\/p>\n

“The Republic of Moldova has registered significant progress in its democratic development. Certainly, the country’s efforts of modernization, put by the authorities in Chisinau, will be appreciated at the Vilnius Summit in November,” the diplomat said.<\/p>\n

Dirk Schuebel has been the EU Ambassador to Moldova since 2009. The next head of the EU Delegation, Pirkka Tapiola is expected to arrive in Chisinau at the beginning of September. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
