British Ambassador to Moldova, Philip David Batson said reforms should be deeply rooted, not present only at surface. In an interview <\/a>with Adevarul newspaper, Mr. Batson stressed that Moldova should focus now on the real implementation of reforms required for signing the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Area Agreement.<\/p>\n

“Only this way the EU will be willing to offer Moldova a clear perspective with regard to its integration,” Philip David Batson said. He mentioned that it is still early to talk about any membership perspectives for Moldova, since the current reforms still have to be implemented.<\/p>\n

According to the British diplomat, the top issues in Moldova are the judiciary, corruption and the excessive politicization of state institutions. He pointed out that the fight against corruption will establish a stable and transparent business environment.<\/p>\n

Moreover, it is also important that tolerance among people is promoted, while the politicians and public servants are accountable for their actions.<\/p>\n
