President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Jean-Claude Mignon said in a press conference on Monday that he will travel to Moldova “in the near future” to hold joint negotiations with both the Government of Chisinau and the separatist leadership from Tiraspol.<\/p>\n

Mr. Mignon said the meeting is likely to take place in Odessa, Ukraine, since the country currently holds the OSCE-Chairmanship.<\/p>\n

“It will be a perfect opportunity to move things forward. Ukraine is also a member of the “5+2”. Therefore, all the conditions are right in order to organize this meeting,” PACE President said.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Jean-Claude Mignon praised ex-speaker of Parliament, Marian Lupu and former Prime Minister, Vlad Filat for making concessions and avoiding early elections in overcoming the political crisis in Moldova.<\/p>\n

“I am constantly in touch with Mr. Lupu, the former speaker of the Moldovan Parliament. He and the former Prime Minister have taken a step back in order to give a chance to this coalition in order to avoid premature parliamentary elections,” the official said.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that stability is important for Moldova since it has an important mission with the European Union at the Vilnius Summit in November this year with regard to the Association Agreement.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
