Violence has been registered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The mayor of Varnita, Alexandr Nichitenco told Moldova.ORG that the situation is &ldquo;very severe.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The so-called Transnistrian foreign minister, Nina Shtanski said in a post on Facebook that the checkpoints were established &ldquo;to avert smuggling with alcohol.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">She added that unarmed controllers were supposed to operate at the checkpoints.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Joint Control Commission (JCC) assembled in an emergency meeting on Saturday to discuss the tensions in the Security Zone after the incidents of Friday night when the Transnistrian separatists installed four new illegal checkpoints in Varnita located on the territory of Moldova, but neighboring Transnistria. As a result, the JCC announced that the illegal installments will be removed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Jennifer Brush said in a statement that she &ldquo;strongly condemns&rdquo; the unilateral actions undertaken by the separatists and urges both sides to abstain from any further actions that could bolster the tensions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&quot;I strongly condemn the incidents that happened last night in the Security Zone and call for the reduction of tensions between the sides.
