Prominent officials voiced that the Association Agreement with the EU might not be signed in November this year as previously announced.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In a statement for Moldova.ORG, Graham Watson, EU Parliament&rsquo;s rapporteur for Moldova said it is less likely that Moldova will sign the Association Agreement by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;It remains unlikely that Moldova will be in a position to sign these agreements in Vilnius,&rdquo; Mr. Watson said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">He urges the political parties in Moldova to re-establish a coalition in order to further continue the reforms initiated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;Progress in re-establishing a coalition government in Chisinau should be their first priority,&rdquo; the EU official added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Moldova-EU Association Agreement negotiations started in January 2010. The Association Agreement supports reforms that are meant to lead to economic recovery, governance, sector cooperation, as well as the liberalization of trade between Moldova and the EU.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Association Agreement includes the so-called Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU, a project that is expected to liberalize the trade between Moldova and the European Union.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Another facility is the visa liberalization package. After signing the document, the citizens of Moldova will be able to travel within the Schengen zone of the EU without holding a visa for up to 90 days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">EU Ambassador to Moldova, Dirk Schuebel has also indirectly suggested on Tuesday in Chisinau that the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union at the end of the year in Vilnius might not happen due to some technical aspects that may emerge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;Imagine that there are 1,000 pages, including enclosures, which must be translated in 23 EU languages,&rdquo; Dirk Schuebel said. &ldquo;I cannot tell you exactly how long this will take, but I can say that no matter what the Republic of Moldova will get by the summit in Vilnius, this will be a success for Moldova-EU relationship.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">President Nicolae Timofti is also skeptical about such an achievement at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius.
