The last Moldova-EU negotiations on the Association Agreement have been concluded on Friday in Brussels. The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration informed in a press release that further talks will be organized via video conferences in the following weeks.<\/p>\n

During these talks, the sides are expected to finish defining the juridical terms used in their joint document that might be signed in November this year.<\/p>\n

This was the 15th round of talks on the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. The experts say the talks advanced rapidly and Moldova is a leader in the Eastern Partnership in terms of reforms implemented so far.<\/p>\n

The Eastern Partnership is a cooperation platform of Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia with the European Union. It aims to strengthen the relations between these countries and the EU by providing assistance and promoting political and economic reforms.<\/p>\n

The Association Agreement includes the so-called Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU, a project that is expected to liberalize the trade between Moldova and the European Union.  <\/p>\n

The Agreement also includes a visa liberalization package. After signing the document, the citizens of Moldova will be able to travel within the Schengen zone of the EU without holding a visa for up to 90 days.<\/p>\n

An amendment regarding the facilitation of the issuance of visas will be considered on Wednesday, March 20 by the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs at the European Parliament in Brussels.
