The European Union urges the political parties and independent lawmakers in Moldova to start a “genuine political dialogue without delay” considering the dismissal of the Government<\/a> that took place on Tuesday amid a no-confidence vote which passed with 54 votes of the Communist Party, Democrat Party and several non-affiliated deputies.<\/p>\n

EU encourages the parties to cooperate and make sure the European endeavor is not stopped.<\/p>\n

“We call on all the political groups and non-affiliated Members of the Moldovan Parliament to engage in genuine political dialogue without delay, with a view to achieving a strong and stable majority committed to promoting democratic values and the rule of law as well as pursuing the path towards political association and economic integration with the EU, for the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova,” said in a joint press statement Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Štefan Füle, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy.<\/p>\n

The statement reads that Moldova achieved great progress recently and results are about to be observed.<\/p>\n

"We take note of today’s no-confidence vote of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the dismissal of the Moldovan Government that ensues. This vote takes place as Moldova has made substantial progress in its visa liberalization process and the completion of ambitious negotiations on an EU-Moldova Association Agreement is within sight,” the statement showed.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
