The negotiations on Association Agreement with EU will be completed this spring, declared the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Natalia Gherman during the 14th round of talks, held on 21-22 January in Chisinau.<\/p>\n

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties made progress in finalizing the text of the Association Agreement. The negotiations on Justice, Freedom and Security Chapter are almost over. Thus, the provisions related to Moldovan citizens’ movement in the EU, which are linked with the Moldova-EU dialogue on visa regime, are still to be determined. The negotiations on the Preamble to the Agreement in which the parties agreed to several provisions were continued.<\/p>\n

Another topic of discussion were the provisions related to Monitoring the Implementation of the Agreement and the procedures to be applied, especially in the case of legislation harmonization to the EU’s.<\/p>\n

The next round of negotiations on the Association Agreement, including on provisions on establishing a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU, will take place in Brussels in March 2013. The Association Agreement with EU is expected to be signed at the Eastern Partnership Summit in November this year.
