The economic crisis is a „way to enhance democracy,” said Luxemburgish Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn in Moldova on Tuesday. During a visit to the country, the European official pointed out that the reforms will develop further if the national leadership will understand the reforms’ significance to citizens.<\/p>\n

However, Jean Asseborn said that his country is aware of the past Moldova had and is ready to help.<\/p>\n

„Likewise the EU member states, Luxemburg is aware of the difficult past of the Republic of Moldova and is ready to give any support needed to secure a better future for the country,” Minister Jean Asseborn said.<\/p>\n

According to him, the political leadership has to learn from this economic crisis Europe goes through.<\/p>\n

„The crisis is a way to enhance democracy, whereas its solution lies in the political elite’s ability to learn from it and focus on state stability,” the leader from Luxemburg said.<\/p>\n

Moldovan Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca said he is hopeful that Luxemburg will support the European perspectives of Moldova while signing the Association Agreement that is expected to be contracted in November this year.<\/p>\n

The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Luxemburg have been established on June 16, 1992. Moldova sent its ambassador to Luxembourg in 1995. However, Luxemburg does not have an embassy in Chisinau.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
