Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is on official visit to Chernivtsi, spoke also about the political conflict in Moldova.
\nLavrov said that Russian Federation hopes that the consensus on solving social and economic problems will be reached at the next round of negotiations in the "5 +2" format, to be held in mid-February in Lviv, Ukraine. He argues that "circumstances to discuss the political status of the region would gradually create only when social and economic problems would be solved".<\/p>\n

"During this round of negotiations we will come up with more ideas that will lead to the creation of circumstances that are necessary to start negotiations on political problems", specified Lavrov, quoted by RIA Novosti news agency.<\/p>\n

Russian Foreign Affairs Minister added that currently there are several problems that prevent the existence of a relationship based on trust between Tiraspol and Chisinau. "Solving these problems is important to ensure a decent living of people on both sides of the river", he mentioned.<\/p>\n
