Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski said that Moldova’s place is in the European Union and encouraged the Moldovan authorities to keep up their work towards achieving European integration. The statement was made on Monday during his first official visit to Moldova.<\/p>\n

“Citizens of Moldova will feel the advantages of European integration shortly after the Republic of Moldova signs the Association Agreement with the EU,” Bronislaw Komorowski said.<\/p>\n

“Based on our own experience, we can affirm there were states that were against Poland to become a full-fledged member state of the European community, but in the end they accepted our will to become part of the Western culture of the continent.”<\/p>\n

The Polish official stated that he views Moldova as a “source of optimism” in the region and voiced that the country should benefit from the important support of the European Union and member states to reform the society and enhance the economy.<\/p>\n

“We believe that the greatest achievement in Poland is succeeding to change the mentality of our citizens,” the Polish head of state said. “I am sure that Moldova will succeed in doing the same in order to have it in the European Union.” <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
