President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso will make a work-related trip to Moldova during November 29 – 30, 2012. This will be the first visit of a President of the EU Commission to the former soviet republic.<\/p>\n

As the Moldovan Government’s press service informed, an overall assessment of the current relations between Moldova and the European Union will be made. Moreover, the sides plan on establishing the next steps to be further made.<\/p>\n

The Head of the EU Commission was invited by Moldovan Premier Vlad Filat to visit Moldova amid strongest relations the two parts have ever had.<\/p>\n

Jose Manuel Barroso previously stated that the deadline for signing the Association Agreement before September 2013 is quite realistic and can be achieved. It is to note that the third round of negotiations over the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) were concluded in Chisinau today.<\/p>\n

DCFTA is intended to build a closer economic integration with the EU by gradually liberalizing the trade of goods and services, diminishing the customs tax and lifting the quantitative restrictions.
\nMoldova is also currently holding negotiations with the European side over lifting the visa requirements for Moldovans.<\/p>\n

A Moldovan parliamentary group issued on Wednesday a regulation which will exempt Moldovans from visa fees if their trip to the EU will aim visiting close relatives.
