Good news for Moldovans willing to visit their relatives in the European Union. The Parliamentary Commission for Foreign Affairs and European Integration issued a decision today which envisages a visa fee exempt for those who want to visit their close relatives living in the European Union. They will also be required to demonstrate less documents and proofs at the embassy.<\/p>\n

Such changes have been proposed by the Moldovan side and accepted by the European officials, as Info-Prim Neo news agency reports. The document has to be ratified by the Moldovan Parliament, as well as by the European Parliament.<\/p>\n

The shift will ease the long-lasting procedures for getting a EU visa. Teenagers under 25 who will travel to EU for educational and cultural purposes will also be exempted from paying the visa application fee which currently amounts 35 Euro for a Schengen visa and 60 Euro for a national visa which can be further extended.<\/p>\n

Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said that the agreement will go into force from next year.<\/p>\n

Moldova and the European Union are currently carrying negotiations over a visa-free travel regime in the EU. If enacted, the Moldovans will be able to freely travel in the Schengen zone for up to 90 days. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
